Looks like Scratchings and Sniffings is off to a great start! My sincere thanks to ALL the wonderful blogger friends who wrote in yesterday to offer congrats, and who took time to leave a comment. I knew you were pet lovers!
On to some fun news - I receive a great pet newsletter twice a week. It's called Petaholic - isn't that a great title and description of those of us who love pets? The focus is on dogs - so - the world needs something for cats. Stay tuned for that.
Meanwhile, feast your eyes on my daughter's fun puppy, Reznor, with his favorite toy.
The Petaholic newsletter has content that often gets me laughing out loud. I aim to share. Here are some nifty pet websites - be forewarned, you will break out in laughter!
Over at Design Within Reach, you can purchase, for the low, low price of only (yes, I'm trying to sound like an info-mercial), of $58, a Sheepskin Throw for your pet. They describe it thusly:
"Drape over our Holden Pet Bunk to offer your small pooch or feline hours of comfort. Machine or hand wash. Made in New Zealand."
The pet bunk retails for $328. Add that to your holiday shopping list!
Once you do that, hop over to Modern Tails Luxury Pet Boutique. LOVE this site! Talk about pampered pups! You have to visit this link! Are diamonds really a dog's best friend?
Animal Attraction has a monthly pet photo contest. I've considered that for this blog - maybe it will happen, maybe not. What do you think? If we have a photo contest - we'll need judges. Should the judges be humans or pets? Animal Attraction looks suspiciously like a dating service...hmmm...
This last link is astonishing. No, really. Over on my business blog, I write about marketing to women online and I talk about bad, bad web design. One fashion site I think is horrible, is Gucci. It opens with a...wait, it looks just like this Pet Fashion Week site. I wonder...???
Darn but it looks like I missed the whole fashion week! It was in August. Just click in to the site and be amazed! I was.
That's it On the Pet Front for now. Keep sending pics. Share stories. Let me know what you want to see in this space! Watch for interviews and podcasts and lots of other great content.

I just thought I'd share with you a great photo of Bush and Dog

Hi Yvonne
Thought you'd be interested to note that they have found ancient pet cemeteries in Peru.

Dogs and cats have been our friends for a long time.

Yes, that is my adorable puppy, and that *was* his favorite toy. Most of his favorite toys last a day or two until he decides to tear them open and rip all the stuffing out.
The best part is watching my husband roam the house picking up scraps of what were once the insides of Reznor's favorite toys...I think Reznor might do it on purpose just to follow my husband around amusingly watching as he cleans up the mess! I must say, I find it amusing as well!
