So, let's talk. You have pets - I know you do. You have a dog. Or a cat. Or lots of dogs and lots of cats. Maybe you have a gerbil or a rabbit. Maybe you only have a golfish. Regardless, if you have a pet - let's talk.
What is it about pets that gets us where we live? Right in the gut! I decided to start this blog because...well, honestly, after meeting and interviewing Laura over at Embrace Pet Insurance, I thought, "Wow! A pet blog would be a great way to have conversations with other pet lovers." And, voila! this blog got built. It's a place for pet conversations.
Notice I said, "Pet lovers." Not, pet owners. I just don't understand people who 'own' pets. A pet is a part of the family. At least, they are at my house. Our 14 year old shepard-lab mix (who is really getting 'old' ), and our 13 year old tabby cat (who has always 'acted' old, even if she isn't) are just as much family as the 3 bigger, grown-up, 'kids' I have.
Carmel and Pandora (Wabby Wibby - which is short for 'baby kitty') are like children to me. I cater to them worse than I ever catered to my children - much to my children's dismay, you understand. But then, my pets listen, my children don't. (the pets listen - they don't necessarily DO what I say, any more than the children ever did; but, they listen.)
So, at this blog - we'll talk pets. You and me. I'll write funny stories, report on the latest pet news I come across (like this website on Pet Gadgets; who knew?) and
you'll send me your stories to share. I'm especially interested in Pet Blogs! And pictures - like this one of Bailey, one of my daughter Maggie's cats:
I'll post surveys for fun, and surveys that are more serious. All in all, we'll get acquainted and talk pets. It'll be fun. Stop over at least once a week - and be friendly - leave me a comment. Ask me a question. Share a picture of your pet. Notice that this is a sponsored blog. But, don't think that means I'm writing what THEY tell me to write. I'm writing about pets - and they're a pet company. Trust me to use my judgment on what gets into this blog, and what doesn't. (it's MY typepad account!)
Let's talk pets.

I have found that no one calls themselves an 'owner' anymore. When I was a kid, that was how everyone referred to someone who had a dog or cat. Now everyone is someone's Mom or Dad. Ha!

Yvonne,
Andrea Learned told me about this blog since I've been so busy launching Embrace, I hadn't pick up on it.
I love it! It's now in my blog list at Embrace. There are so few decent pet-related blogs, I'm delighted you've picked up the fingers (as opposed to the pen) to amuse us and make us think.
Thanks for the nod Yvonne. I'll be submitting my pictures too along with Anita. We've got the NE Ohio region covered :)

Yes, indeed - My cats do listen...and look at me ever so adoringly as they continue to shred the sofa (as I'm screaming NO in my best "bad, bad Mom" voice). But, then they know I'd never really hurt them. Pets keep us human and humane.

Anita, I would LOVE to post pictures of your cats. Send me pics and notes and anything you like. I'll share with the readers.
I'm working on more surveys and a CONTEST... but that announcement will come later! Stay tuned! And share, share, share!

Hi Yvonne, Fun blog. If I dig out some pictures of my two cats will you post them? And it's great to see a company like Purina step up and support it and participate in the blogosphere.
Best,
Anita
